I was never in organized sports as a youth, except for being on the JV tennis team in high school, but I have been active most of my adult life. My primary activities have been hiking and cycling, as well as weight training. I was quite active as a recreational cyclist up until the time I had my son. Working and caring for an infant pretty much negated the opportunity for lengthy workouts outside the home, so I settled for various magazine derived workouts that I could do from the comfort of home in the morning, supplemented with weekend walks and an occasional bike ride.
I discovered Essentrics® while watching PBS early one morning before going to work. I had never seen the program before, but I found it very interesting and began incorporating the program as my primary fitness routine. The aired episodes were less than 30 minutes long, the perfect answer for a daily, pre-workday routine. The icing on the cake was that the workout felt so complete, leaving me energized, feeling fit, and slowly melting away my frequent hip pain. I added longer DVD workouts to my routine and enthusiastically attended two Essentrics® retreats, one in 2017 and one in 2018. I quickly decided that not only did I want to continue doing Essentrics® for myself, but I also wanted to help others by sharing the benefits of the program, so I eventually started studying for the certification track. Coaching Background I began teaching classes in Denver as a Level 1 instructor in March 2020 and completed the four-level certification in August 2023. I am continually inspired by this program, my fellow teachers, and my students, all of which continually contribute to my growth and knowledge. I really do consider Essentrics® the gift that keeps on giving. I graciously share it with others, and it gives me so much in return. |
